Advice Services Fund to launch end of November - 21 November 2011
The Cabinet Office has announced that a £16.3 million fund for free advice services in England will be delivered by the BIG Fund, the non-lottery arm of the Big Lottery Fund.
The fund is due to open to applications on 28 November and will provide grants of between £40,000 and £70,000 to organisations providing debt, welfare benefits, employment and housing advice services.
Applicants will have to provide advice in at least one of the four areas and be able to evidence public funding cuts of at least 10 per cent for those advice service areas from central and local government sources in 2011/12. Full scheme details BIG Fund
Arts
Grants for the Arts offers grants for individuals, arts organisations and other people who use the arts in their work. Grants are awarded for activities carried out over a set period and which engage people in England in arts activities, and help artists and arts organisations in England carry out their work. Grants for the Arts is funded by the National Lottery.
Bid - minimum: £ 1,000 Bid- maximum: £ 100,000
Grants to organisations range from £1,000 to £100,000, and can cover activities lasting up to three years. Arts Council England expect at least 10% of the total cost of activities to come from other sources of income. Email enquiries@artscouncil.org.uk for more information
Repair Grants for Places of Worship in England
Repair Grants for Places of Worship in England offers grants for urgent repairs to listed buildings which are in regular use as public places of worship. Grants are available for formally constituted religious organisations. The scheme is jointly funded by English Heritage (EH) and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and is administered by EH's nine regional offices.

The Total Fund Value represents the amount available for project grants per annum. Priority will be given to single repair projects which can be carried out with total costs (including fees and VAT) of less than £250,000. Projects with total costs (including fees and VAT) of less than £10,000 will not normally be considered In special circumstances Arts Council England can assess applications for grants over £100,000 for more major projects. You can apply only if you receive a letter from the regional office where you are based agreeing to this beforehand.
The Sport England
Small Grants Programme has been set up to support local community sport projects which seek to increase or sustain participation or develop opportunities for people to excel at their chosen sport. Grants are available for activities such as, helping a sports club to buy extra team kit or pay additional coaching fees, or initiatives to get more young people playing sport.
Bid - minimum: £ 300 Bid- maximum: £ 10,000
Grants range from £300 to £10,000 and the total project cost cannot exceed £50,000. Projects must be deliverable within 12 months.
Sportsmatch is a funding programme established by Sport England to support the development of grassroots sport in England. It makes awards to organisations running projects aimed at increasing participation in sports at community level by matching eligible sponsorship invested in community sport. Sports-match is open to formally constituted not-for-profit organisations and statutory bodies.

Young Roots aims to involve 13-25 year-olds in finding out about their heritage, developing skills, building confidence and promoting community involvement. Young Roots projects should stem directly from young peoples' interests and ideas and all projects must be delivered by a partnership. Youth groups must work with at least one heritage partner (for example, a local wildlife trust or museum) to deliver the project. see HLF-YR

DFID will provide £1 for every £1 donated by the public up to a maximum of £5 million.
